Avita processes card payments through Stripe. Your salon gets its own Stripe account, connected to Avita — money from a sale goes to your bank, not through ours.
Connecting your account
Settings → Payments → Connect with Stripe. Stripe asks for:
- your legal business name and address
- your tax ID (EIN, or SSN for a sole proprietor)
- the bank account for payouts
- an ID document for the person who owns the business
This is Stripe's requirement, not ours — every payment processor must verify a business before moving money for it. Have the details to hand and it takes about ten minutes.
Until it is approved
Connecting is not instant. Stripe usually confirms within minutes but can take a day or two if it asks for extra documents.
While it is pending, card payments are unavailable. Everything else works — booking, the calendar, clients, cash sales. Your salon is not blocked, only the card register is.
You can tell the difference in Settings → Payments: it shows Pending while Stripe is reviewing and Ready once charges are enabled.
Taking the first payment
Once it says Ready, ring up a small sale on yourself and refund it. That proves the register, the reader, and the receipt email all work before a real client is standing at the desk. A refund returns the money to the card within a few days.
What Avita charges
The platform is free. We take a small percentage of card payments — it appears on your Stripe statement as an application fee, and every sale earns credit you can spend on messaging, AI, and hardware.
Cash sales cost you nothing and earn nothing.
